The Copenhagen Wheel is a remarkable set of technologies debuted in Copenhagen a few days ago by MIT researchers. The Swiss army knife of technologies inside of the rear wheel can monitor speed, smog in the air, your friends and where they are on their bikes. It will talk to your iPhone via Bluetooth to tell you the speed that you’re traveling, direction you’re going, and the distance you’ve traveled.

But wait! There’s more!

The Copenhagen Wheel has the ability to convert kinetic energy generated during breaking into power that will charge batteries. Those batteries can then be used to give you a speed boost up a hill through a built-in electric motor.

The best part is that the Copenhagen Wheel can be fit into any bike wheel, no special parts or modifications needed. I can see this technology making big impacts biking cities like Copenhagen or Boulder but MIT researchers hope that the built-in motor will encourage more biking in hilly cities like San Francisco. No one wants to get sweaty in a suit on the way to work and with the Copenhagen Wheel, you might not have to.

and with funkyeahjamiroquai quickly becoming one of my favorite tumblrs, Jamiroquai has been on blast while I work on finals. This is one of my favorite live performances of Blow Your Mind… probably one of my personal favorites of all of jamiroquai’s songs.

Only keep current apps on my dock, as I open everything with Quicksilver. Since I’m currently procrastinating instead of working on my western civ notes for the final I’ve got iTunes, Chrome, & Mariner Write open.

Toolbar - dropbox, quicksilver, meteorologist, shovebox, notify, jumpcut, caffeine

Looks good! :D We use alot of the same apps. I love ShoveBox and Notify; and you know how I feel about Quicksilver. But how do you like Mariner Write? I use WriteRoom.

I’ve only used Mariner Write for quick things - class notes, outlines for presentations…It’s more of a robust text editor than a Word type replacement. I use NeoOffice to replace Word.

I have WriteRoom, but I haven’t used it that often - can you change it so it’s not green on black and looks like a typical word processing program?

NeoOffice is an excellent choice but I Loveeee iWork. And yeah! you can customize WriteRoom to look however you want. Its a cool little app but it wouldn’t have paid for it. I got from macheist along with ShoveBox. Oh! how do like Coda?
